Our School Year Weekend Program:
The School Year Weekend Program provides each registered child with healthy lunch and breakfast options for the weekends, holidays and vacations when children are not attending school. The weekend bags will include two lunch and breakfast options for use over the weekend when children do not have access to these meals at their schools. The weekend bags include only non-perishable food items. Lunches and breakfasts included in these weekend bags may include items such as oatmeal, peanut butter, crackers, macaroni and cheese and assorted canned items like soups, stews, pasta and sauce.
The School Year Weekend Program does not include a weekly delivery option but instead offers a weekly pickup at your child’s school on Friday afternoons throughout the school year. These weekend bags are small and easily fit in your child’s backpack to ensure confidentiality. We also offer a weekly pick up at The SAU Office if that is more convenient for you and your family. Please designate the pickup location for each child on the application to ensure appropiate distribution.
The first weekend bags will be available on Friday September 30th to all registered children.
We are working in concert with individuals, businesses, Gilford Youth Center, Gilford School District and Gilford Community Church to operate this program.
